On 11 December 2025, the Mae Fah Luang University Learning Innovation Institute (MLii), successfully hosted the "MLii Open House 2025: Lifelong Journey - Opening the Home of Lifelong Learning." The event was designed to introduce the institute's services and promote knowledge exchange among MFU personnel through a range of interactive activities and compelling presentations.
The Open House featured several key activities designed to inspire and educate:
• an exhibition showcasing learning and innovation projects developed in collaboration with MFU lecturers and internal divisions.
• a knowledge-sharing session titled "From Classroom to Lifelong Journey," facilitating peer-to-peer insights.
• a special Podcast discussion, "Storytelling for Impact: Lessons from Engaging Content" presented by the Salmon Lab team.
• a mini workshop offering hands-on experience in sound recording at the Sound Studio.
The event also featured the presentation of awards for outstanding funded projects. These awards celebrated dedicated efforts to advance lifelong learning across three critical categories: Learning Development Innovation, E-Book Development, and Online Course Development. The ceremony recognizes individuals who have shown commitment to enhancing lifelong learning–whether through research, E-book development, or online course design.
In her opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Darunee Wattanasiriwech, Vice President explained that MLii has been elevated from the Academic Extension and Development Office (AEDO). This elevation grants MLii broader functions and a stronger mandate to support instructional development and promote modern learning innovations across the university.
"Like students, faculty members must continue learning throughout their lives. We want to move away from outdated teaching practices and encourage instructors to adopt more engaging and effective approaches. MLii plays a crucial role in introducing new resources and innovations that enhance the learning experience and ensure that teaching at MFU remains dynamic and responsive to changing needs,” she stated.
Throughout the day, participants actively engaged in activities, explored exhibitions, and tested new systems and services, successfully broadening their perspectives and strengthening their lifelong learning skills.
